Community contributions and environmental awareness is one of the core values of New World Insurance (NWI). NWI received several awards from different organizations in recognizing our contributions to society and the environment.
NWI strives to reduce the amount of waste generated through the service we provide. In October 2009, we achieved Class of "Good" in the Wastewi$e Label given by the Environmental Campaign Committee. The label recognized the waste reduction efforts of our company.
NWI was awarded Carbon"Less" 4% Certificate in April 2010. It recognizes our achievements in carbon reduction and relieving global warming.
In May 2010, NWI was, for the first time, granted "Merit" of the Sectoral Awards in Financial, Insurance and Accounting Institutions owing to an overall outstanding environmental performance. This includes the level of commitment made by our senior management in the pursuit of environmental objectives and the commitment of our staff members to the implementation of environmental initiatives.
NWI is diligent in fulfilling corporate social responsibility. We received "Merit" in the HSBC Living Business Awards in November 2009. The award recognized our commitment and contribution in corporate sustainability, including impact on the environment and the community, and the engagement of our staff members.
New World Insurance Management Limited received Caring Company Logo 2009/10 granted by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service ("HKCSS") at the Caring Company NGO Partnership Day 2009/10 on 25 March 2010, which is the consecutive two years awarding this logo.
NWI showed support to fair trade during the Fair Trade Fortnight from 21st March to 11th April. We shared a happy moment to enjoy Fair Trade refreshments and took great photos. The activity enhanced staff members’ awareness on fair trade and encouraged them to support this meaningful act. We also received "Merit" in the Fair Trade Workplace Society Photo Competition.
NWI has been working closely with YWCA Ming Yue District Elderly Community Centre in the past few years. We received the Best Partnership Award by demonstrating a spirit of care to society.
